The LYCRA Company launches LYCRA TOP COMFORT fiber

The LYCRA Company, a global leader in creating innovative and sustainable fiber and technology solutions for apparel and personal care, has introduced its newest advancement for pantyhose waistbands, called LYCRA® TOP COMFORT fiber.

A recent study found that three of the top ten concerns consumers have about sheer hosiery relate to the waistband. Many customers want waistbands that don’t pinch, slip, or roll down.

Responding to these insights, The LYCRA Company designed a new waistband that accommodates a wider range of sizes and body shapes. This design provides a smooth, invisible waistline and minimizes red marks on the skin.

“We developed LYCRA® TOP COMFORT fiber to meet the demand for improved waistband comfort and a secure fit,” said Sybille Bald, strategic marketing director for legwear at The LYCRA Company. “In wear tests, eight out of ten consumers preferred pantyhose made with LYCRA® TOP COMFORT fiber.”

LYCRA® TOP COMFORT fiber provides consistent knitting performance from start to finish, with excellent color uptake and durability. Additionally, the fiber’s properties allow for low-tension knitting and precise waistband sizing, which improves production efficiency.
