TextileGenesis, a company under the Lectra Group, has introduced a new Supply Chain Discovery module to its Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. Renowned for its traceability solution, the Fiber to Retail module, TextileGenesis has been a leader in providing the fashion industry with a secure, digitized chain of custody for sustainable materials. The latest Supply Chain Discovery module complements this by identifying the origin of conventional materials, allowing users to fulfill traceability requirements for all materials on a single platform.

While the Fiber to Retail module focuses on sustainable and certified materials, the Supply Chain Discovery module adopts a different approach tailored to conventional materials in the value chain. Operating in a declarative mode, it traces the supply chain backward, from finished products to intermediate players in the value chain. The platform can also record information from external bodies conducting traceability tests on samples.

Amit Gautam, from TextileGenesis, emphasized the significant advantage for platform users. They can now consolidate all necessary information for tracing materials in their product range, whether garments are made from sustainable or conventional materials. This addition addresses the challenge of achieving total traceability on a single platform, ensuring the highest levels of reliability and security for collected data without the need for separate systems.
