Textile machinery symposium, first German event took place on Iranian soil

A textile machinery symposium took place in the Iranian capital Teheran on April 21 & 22, 2015 organized by the German VDMA. This was the first German event of this type on Iranian soil in the last ten years.

The event was opened by Golnar Nasrollahi, general Manager of Textile & Garment Department, Regina Brückner, Chairwoman of the VDMA Association for Textile Machinery, and Michael von Ungern-Sternberg, German Embassador.

The symposium was very well attended with about 600 guests each day which showed clearly the interest in German textile machinery and their good reputation.

Most of the visitors were decision-makers of private textile and carpet producers. Many of these companies do actually need spare parts and after-sales service but are also interested in investing in new machines.

The Iranian Textile Minister Nasrollahi emphasized in her opening speech that it is one of the targets of the Iranian government to stimulate the exports of the textile industry. Due to the political sanctions in the last years Iranian companies could only buy Asian machines and lines. But now the prospects are good for German machinery suppliers to regain market shares.

In total, about 40 technology presentations were held. BRÃœCKNER participated with a paper about innovative technologies regarding the thermal treatment of textiles. After that the guests had the opportunity to exchange views and compare notes with the representatives of German companies.

It was clearly perceivable that there is a lot of unsatisfied demand in technological know-how and investments in Iran and a great general interest in German plants and lines with high quality standards. This is a clear opportunity for BRÃœCKNER with their production site Germany to score in comparison with their competitors.
