Texon to launch Texon Verde at Packaging Première in Milan

Texon Verde, a new bio-based and biodegradable cellulose material will be formally unveiled at Packaging Première in Milan from May 24-26.

The material, which is made from sustainably sourced (FSC) cellulose wood pulp, plant-based binders, and natural pigments, can be used to create premium and luxury packaging, as well as fashion and homeware accessories, and allows environmentally conscious designers to reduce the impact of their products without sacrificing quality or aesthetics.

Texon Verde is great for protecting high-end garments and technological applications, like computers, because it is lightweight, tear-resistant, wipeable, and simple to handle. This material may also be utilized in various types of packaging as well as the manufacture of must-have fashion and homeware items.

It has up to 90% bio-based content, is devoid of dangerous compounds, and is produced at the company’s factory in Ripatransone, Italy, using only environmentally friendly mechanical and chemical procedures. It also biodegrades and is originally available in three earthy colors – Bianco, Caramello, and Nero – as well as 100cm x 150cm sheets or 150cm-wide coils of any length.

Boyd Mulder, Group, sustainability and marketing director at Texon, said that Texon Verde is a designer’s dream, giving the high-end attributes required for premium and luxury applications while having a substantially smaller environmental effect than traditional solutions. From its raw ingredients to its biodegradability, it allows producers to express their creativity in an environmentally friendly manner. They’ve already had a lot of interest in this product, and they expect a lot more following Packaging Première.

Texon’s most recent sustainability report puts the firm on pace to reach its environmental goals for 2025, when it hopes to have cut its carbon footprint by half, decreased its usage of virgin materials by half, and made 90 percent of its waste recyclable or reusable.
