TEXAID and Avery Dennison transform textile recycling

Avery Dennison, a global leader in digital identification solutions and materials science, has announced a partnership with TEXAID, a well-known European company that specializes in the collection, sorting, repair, reselling, and recycling of used textiles. The organization plans to address the difficulties of material waste administration in front of approaching administrative changes in the EU.

The application of cutting-edge technologies is an essential component of this collaboration. As a supplier of market-driving computerized distinguishing proof answers for the clothing business, Avery Dennison will work with TEXAID to investigate how innovation can empower recognizability of articles of clothing through the arranging and reusing process. TEXAID will be able to process apparel into relevant resale or recycling streams with the assistance of digital identifiers that are tracked via Avery Dennison’s atma.io connected product cloud platform and carry vital fiber information.

Europe creates a stunning 7,000,000 tons of material waste every year, yet just 35% of this waste is independently gathered, and under 1% is reused into new materials. Perceiving the dire requirement for change, the European Association (EU) is going for the gold upgrade of the business by 2030 under the Technique for Practical Materials. Fashion items will be more durable, easier to repair and recycle, and free of hazardous substances thanks to new design requirements.

A significant perspective is the compulsory essentials for reused content and the arranged presentation of Advanced Item International IDs containing data about a thing’s manageability certifications. These will assist EU regulators in imposing disclosure requirements and increased accountability for the fate of clothing that cannot be sold or is no longer desired.
