Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. has unveiled a groundbreaking comfort material that merges contact cooling functionality with sweat stickiness prevention. This innovative fabric features a dual-layer knit structure. The inner layer alternates Teijin Frontier’s newly developed hydrophobic WAVERON yarn with conventional hydrophilic WAVERON yarn.

The hydrophilic yarn efficiently absorbs perspiration, while the hydrophobic yarn ensures it does not adhere to the skin, keeping it dry. The outer layer disperses absorbed sweat, promoting effective moisture management.

The new fabric integrates two of Teijin Frontier’s advanced technologies. The first is TRIPLEDRY CARAT, a polyester fabric that balances perspiration absorption and sweat adhesion prevention through strategic placement of hydrophobic and hydrophilic yarns. The second is WAVERON, a full dull, non-crimped yarn with contact cooling functionality. WAVERON yarn includes titanium oxide, which enhances the cooling sensation by transferring heat from the skin to the fiber.

The company plans to launch this material for the 2026 spring/summer sports and outdoor apparel season, targeting domestic and international markets. Teijin Frontier aims to sell 100,000 meters of the fabric before expanding its applications to functional fashion clothing. By fiscal 2028, the company expects annual sales of 1 million meters of this next-generation material.
