Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) learning that $ 90 million worth of textile products mostly raw material such as cotton yarn is exported to Japan held a workshop in collaboration with Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) to provide valuable information through expertise to boost further exports to Japanese market on Wednesday.

Director General of TDAP, Sher Afgan Khan addressing the workshop said that TDAP in its capacity of trade promotional organisation of Pakistan would be making all efforts to develop the export potential of Pakistani products, modern as well as traditional to increase their market share in foreign markets.

While, Senior Researcher of the Japan Textile Import Association (JTIA) Yoshiaki Kamiyama briefed, the participants about the Japanese markets trends and detailed Japanese distribution channels. The Pakistani companies were also advised to vigilantly select Japanese trade partners.

By maintaining close contacts between the business communities and meeting the quality, design and other pre-requisites of Japanese markets, Pakistani textile sector can make a way into Japanese market and achieve huge business consignments.

According to expert Jica Hideaki Shimizu Pakistani textile exporters has the opportunity to benefit from Japan market if they increase their value added exports for which Pakistan business community needs to study more about Japanese market.

Chairman International Trade Committee APTMA Aamir Fayyaz, said that their vision is to double textile exports in the next five years and that they would work more towards achieving the target set.
