US retailer Target Corp is inviting customers to exchange used denim items as part of its "first" chain-wide denim take-back event in a bid to promote circularity. Consumers can recycle their denim items in exchange for a one-time 20% off coupon, as part of Target's circularity efforts.
Target shared it is making it easier for consumers to make “more sustainable” choices by keeping used or outgrown denim out of landfills while saving on products used in their daily lives.
The Denim Take-Back Event will be held from 4 to 10 August, where consumers can recycle up to five used or outgrown denim items of any brand in-store and receive 20% off a new denim apparel purchase with Target Circle.
Consumers can use the promo code for all denim apparel, including Target-owned brands like Universal Thread, Wild Fable, Goodfellow & Co, Cat & Jack, and national brands like Levi’s.
Target explained that the denim take-back event is a response to the growing consumer interest in products and programs that help reduce waste and further the retailer’s commitment to creating and curating inclusive, sustainable brands and experiences.
