Swiftwick introduces socks made with REPREVE® recycled polyester

Swiftwick is excited to launch the MAXUS sock, which features a high-performance, recycled polyester footbed made by REPREVE®.Swiftwick has accomplished its 2023 goal of using recycled, renewable, or responsible fibers in every one of its products with the launch of the MAXUS using REPREVE.

Without giving in, Swiftwick is dedicated to sustainability. The REPREVE high-performance recycled polyester used in the MAXUS footbed keeps the line’s trademark velvety comfort and moisture-wicking properties. One post-consumer water bottle is now used for every pair of socks, preventing single-use plastic from ending up in our oceans and landfills.

Joanna Mariani, chief marketing officer at Swiftwick, said that the new MAXUS produced with REPREVE is something they’re happy to share because sustainability is vital to their firm and top of mind for their clients. This new release helps to close the gap in our sustainable product options as they consistently endeavor to lower their environmental impact across all of their manufacturing processes.

Swiftwick has made a commitment to procuring 80% of its Merino wool raw materials from RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified sources by the end of 2024 and aiming toward 100 percent by 2027 in addition to launching the MAXUS with REPREVE this spring. RWS certifies independent animal welfare and land management techniques used in the production of wool with the goal of enhancing the welfare of sheep and the land they graze on. It also tracks certified material from the farm to the finished product.

Swiftwick makes efforts to have a greater positive impact on the environment every year. They eliminated all single-use plastic from their consumer packaging in 2019 and are currently aiming to raise the overall proportion of sustainable fibers in their packaging. Swiftwick also continues to assist important community organizations that focus on introducing underprivileged youngsters to the outdoors, fostering a passion and respect for seeking adventure, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for everyone to enjoy. Also, they collaborate with charities in need of socks and provide over 13,000 pairs.
