SV Pittie Textiles to set up yarn manufacturing facility in Sylvania

SV Pittie Textiles, a leading India-based textile manufacturer having substantial presence in the Indian textile industry, with manufacturing capacity operates in 13 locations, broke ground on Monday for a planned $70 million yarn manufacturing facility near Sylvania. The construction is expected to begin this year.

This project will be the biggest single investment in the U.S. cotton yarn sector in decades. The plant, which will be located in Screven County Industrial Park, will provide employment to 250 people when it’s fully operational.

There is a significant market opportunity for yarn manufacturing in Georgia due to a skilled local workforce, proximity to high-quality cotton fiber, the economical supply and reliability of power and world-class infrastructure to international markets.

The new facility will not only generate 250 new U.S. jobs and to bring a positive economic effect on the local area and its rich cotton textile heritage. The facility will feature class-leading machinery, utilizing synergies between the new plant and the company’s existing textile operations, including technical expertise and a global network for sales and marketing. The production will be flexible to meet market demand.

The Screven County Industrial Park is certified as a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development site, one of more than 30 GRAD sites around the state that offer advanced due diligence for industrial development.

The company will also take advantage of the services of Georgia Quick Start, a state program that will provide the company with free, customized workforce training and development.

The company will manufacture a range of different counts of carded cotton yarn.

Shrivallabh Pittie Group’s decision to build its first U.S. facility in Georgia draws attention to the attractive infrastructure and diverse talent pool.
