Standard Textile Co., Inc., a leading provider of healthcare and hospitality textiles, has introduced its Take-Back Recycling Program, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and responsible environmental practices. This program offers customers an easy way to dispose of linens responsibly.
Melanie Boyle, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Standard Textile, expressed excitement about the program, stating that it aligns with the company's mission to promote sustainability. She emphasized the significant impact it could have on waste reduction and exploring circularity in their products.
As part of the Take-Back program, Standard Textile accepts retired linens from customers, repurposing or downcycling them into items like carpet padding or automobile insulation. To ensure the program's effectiveness, the company conducted a pilot with two hospitality customers with over 35 properties nationwide from 2022 to 2023.
