Springs Creative Products Group LLC, headquartered in the Knowledge Park district of Rock Hill, SC., plan to expand their portfolio of innovative textile products it sells globally announced on Wednesday the acquisition of Carolina Manufacturing in Greenville which has about 50 employees.

Spokeswoman Mary Hannah Statham said in an email that in Greenville, there may be changes in the future at the operation but not in the immediate future. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Fendrich Industries has owned and operated Carolina Manufacturing since 1963. The company makes textile-related products and is a major supplier of men’s handkerchiefs. They also make promotional and traditional bandannas and ancillary products.

Carolina Manufacturing was founded in 1946 and primarily provided products to dime stores, pharmacies and various retail outlets.

Kathy Morrow, president of Carolina Manufacturing said that they are all excited about joining Springs Creative, a recognized innovator with a distinguished history in the textile industry. Their capabilities and products align with Springs Creative and Carolina Manufacturing is poised for greater growth opportunities.

Springs Creative was founded in 2007 by Derick Close, great-great-grandson of Leroy Springs, founder of Fort Mill Manufacturing Co. in 1887. The company later became the global textile manufacturer Springs Industries.

Springs Creative, staffed by more than 150 talented employees, maintains design, marketing and sales offices in Rock Hill, S.C. and a team of production and sourcing specialists in Shanghai, China.
