Spinnova collaborates with Luhta Sportswear’s Rukka brand to launch a new t-shirt made with SPINNOVA fibres. The shirt is composed of 29% wood-based SPINNOVA fibre, 68% cotton, and 3% elastane. This release is part of Rukka’s 2024 Olympic collection and marks the first product containing SPINNOVA fibres available online for consumers. This t-shirt is launched in two colors: deep blue and white.
Annamaria Väli-Klemelä, Sustainability Director at Luhta Sportswear Company, stated, “Our sustainability goal is to achieve circular economy-compliant collections by 2040. We are especially interested in material innovations that support this objective and collaborate closely with our material partners to discover them. Spinnova, a Finnish pioneer in this area, exemplifies innovative material development.”
Tuomas Oijala, CEO of Spinnova, expressed, “We are very proud to be selected by a significant Finnish brand like Luhta for their new product. This collaboration demonstrates that our fibre can be used in various applications. Although Spinnova’s main focus is selling and providing fibre production technology, we will continue to engage in important brand collaborations to help the market explore more uses for our fibre and showcase its potential.”
