SPINEXPO expands its footprint into Europe with the launch of Paris edition

SPINEXPO is a professional trade exhibition dedicated to promoting innovations in fibres, yarns, knitwear and knitted fabrics. It covers also creative machinery for knitwear and circular knits. After building its success over the past 14 years in Shanghai and New York has now decided to expand its footprint into Europe with the launch of SPINEXPO Paris edition, where the trends and collections for the Autumn/Winter 2017 season will be presented, organisers report.

Among the exhibitors are two Asia based companies that will present their latest innovations to the international audience. Xinao, a high-tech wool spinning mill specialized in Merino and worsted yarn blends, is an innovative pilot enterprise located in Zhejiang, China. Fenix Group, founded in 1972 as a supplier of Japanese yarns to Hong Kong based companies, is now a leading supplier of premium knitwear, operating in Europe and the US.

According to organizers, its Shanghai based exhibition has been an ongoing catalyst for the textile and fashion industry and it aims to move suppliers and buyers forward, to bring new ideas in design and innovative technical applications to the marker.

Buyers have come to recognize SPINEXPO as a place of paramount importance, the vanguard of cutting-edge ideas, creativity and inspiration,” said organizers.

In response to the increasing demand from buyers for reliable and high performance products, the exhibition is focused on bringing suppliers closer to their consumers. The goal of the upcoming event is to bring together spinners and knitwear manufacturers, who invest in innovation and have become the most effective suppliers of US and EU brands to Paris.

Accredited as a Woolmark licensee, Xinao is one of the leading Merino suppliers, known for its dedicated commitment to sustainability. The company boasts lSO9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental systems, and has obtained a Merinomark licence.

Xinao yarns are accredited Oeko-Tex standard 100 class 1, and have received pure wool yarn and wool tops Eco-Label Certification. Xinao is one of the only Merino suppliers that has implemented the use of H2O2 instead of chlorine. Cashfeel and Newchuwa are the two most representative brands.

Xinao offers yarns that are said to have good air permeability, a super soft hand feel and are easy care, with colour fastness. The company’s new yarn Armour is supported by DuPont’s latest Teflon technology in order to obtain water/stain/oil repellency.

Xinao offers three lines of products, including yarns for knitwear, yarns for circular knitting and yarns for weaving. In addition, the company partners with Hong Kong and China based knitwear manufacturers and in particular, Fenix and Aussco in Hong Kong.

Fenix Group has been focusing its knitwear trading and manufacturing activities on Japan as a core market since 1980. By 2000, the company further developed premium markets in Europe and the US and become a leading supplier of premium knitwear.

Fenix Fashion, a Hong Kong based manufacturer, was sold to Li & Fung and is now independent from Fenix Group. The company remains committed to developing innovative designs and catering to the high-end markets with men’s, women’s and children’s fashion sweaters, in collaboration with a team of talented designers.

Hong Kong is a leading place for knitwear collection and manufacturing. Most of the factories are now based in China, Vietnam, Bangladesh and many of the leading knitwear companies partner with European brands, bringing their expertise in design, fitting, yarn sourcing and technical know-how.

Most of the noble fibres originate in China, a country that has invested the most in the newest and most modern equipment, structured itself with strong R&D international teams and adjusted its production lines to offer more versatility in term of quantities and service.
Still a strong manufacturing place, China is home to knitwear brands that partner with spinning mills to ensure correct timing, quality insurance and uniqueness. Today, most products are customized for clients, and each mill takes pride in its own unique advantage.

Spinexpo Paris will take place from 6-7 July, at the new venue, Cite de la Mode, in Paris which is a hub for current and future generations of people working in Paris’ creative sector.
