SPG Prints to launch its new range of Nebula Acid inks for garment

SPG Prints, a digital textile printing business has specially developed new range of ‘Nebula Acid’ inks, for use with polyamide (PA) Lycra swimwear, luxury silk items, and a number of fashion items such as scarves and neck ties, and wools which will be launched for the first time at the Febratex trade show in Brazil from 9 – 12 August 2016 at Parque Vila Germanica, Blumenau, Brazil.

Jos Notermans, commercial manager of digital textiles at SPG, said that these inks are such a major step forward in their chemistry that they will be phasing out their current acid ink range. However, they will support customers making the transition, and help them recalibrate their colour profiles to run the new high density inks.

The inks, which are designed to work with Kyocera print heads, all meet the necessary industry standards for colour and water-fastness, and the specifications for all major swimwear manufacturers. They are also said to offer increased colour depth and improved production times.

The Nebula Acid inks will be available to customers from September 2016, initially in CMYK, orange, red, blue and grey, following their unveiling at Febratex.

SPG’s booth at Febratex is also set to demonstrate its newest development in multiple-pass rotary machinery – the ‘Javelin’. This particular piece of kit is said to have a printing width of 1850m, with a productivity count of up to 550m2/h and a print quality of up to 1200dpi.

The company said that it has been launched on the back of last year’s ‘Pike’ inkjet printer development, to help meet the industry’s growing productivity demands on a cheaper scale.
