Traditional stonewashing involves combining pumice stones and denim clothes in an industrial washing machine, where the garments are pounded and battered repeatedly in a tumbler. On a freshly created garment, this gives jeans a vintage and worn look.

ZERO STONE replicated the appearance of traditionally manufactured garments while using less water and implementing a positive effluent discharge rather than dangerous chemical emissions. The breakthrough transforms sustainable clothing manufacturing at scale while reducing the usage of natural resources.

Enchanted wash effects can be generated with this technology even at a 1:1 liquor ratio. ZERO STONE uses 43% less water, 18% less energy, 19% less chemical, and 5% less labor impact per garment than traditional stone washing. This means that a significant amount of water, chemicals, and stones are no longer used in the typical stonewashing procedure.
