At the Sircilla Textile Park advisory committee meeting in Karimnagar on Wednesday, Collector Neetu Prasad said that the Sircilla Textile Zone would be developed at a cost of Rs. 365 crore with all units such as warping, sizing, dyeing and other units, in order to benefit the powerloom weavers and also the industrialists to ensure that the textile units function regularly to provide employment round the year.

she added that the Sircilla municipality and 37 grama panchayats would be covered under the Sircilla textile zone with a jurisdiction of 58,633 acres of land. The textile units setting up in this zone would get benefits of industrial zone such as infrastructure, basic amenities, concessions, exemptions etc.
The Collector also instructed the powerloom owners to develop the industry on the lines of Surat and provide employment to the weavers throughout the year. Advising the owners to produce value added fabrics, she said that the owners should ensure that the weavers do not go on strike.
She asked the entrepreneurs to pay the property tax to the grama panchayat so that developmental works would be taken up by the panchayat. She also said that they would provide all amenities in the existing textile park.
