As part of the State government’s ambitious plan to reinvent the textile town, a blueprint for the development of Sircilla will be set in motion, said Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao (KTR).
KTR, who made a whirlwind tour of the town on Wednesday, said that there was a need for a strategic framework for the town’s future. Keeping an eye on future needs of the town, the administration is drawing a plan that includes development of infrastructure, adding that emphasis is also on the aesthetics of the town.
The upcoming national highway and the railway line will add more to the town’s development, referring to widening of Karimnagar and Kamareddy roads with an outlay of Rs 87 crore.
Linking with Mid Manair Dam package-9, Kotha cheruvu and Kargil lake have to be maintained with water round the year, KTR said, adding that banks of Manair river will also be beautified.
