SIMA coming up with ninth edition of Texfair soon

Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) to organize Texfair 2015, ninth edition will bring together the manufacturers and suppliers of textile machinery, spares, accessories, components and the consumers such as textile mills, powerlooms, handlooms and knitters under one roof. The exhibition will focus not only on spinning, but also on weaving and processing sectors.

According to T. Rajkumar, chairman of the association, the exhibition of textile machinery and spares will have 180 participants and 240 stalls. The second edition of Farm-to-Finish expo and seminars will also be held on the four days. About 30 companies will participate in the Farm to Finish expo.

Textile mills spend 2.5 percent to three percent of their annual turnover on spares and accessories. There are indications of investments picking up in the textile sector in the coming days.

The event will also showcase the latest trends in speciality yarn. Textile mills are using even bamboo and banana fibre to make speciality yarn. In Tamil Nadu, over 100 mills make speciality yarn and it accounts for nearly five per cent of the total yarn production in the State.

The demand for such yarn is from domestic and export markets and in the future value added yarn will give higher profit to the mills.

Sessions on shuttleless looms, energy conservation, solar energy, and manmade fibre will also be held. The exhibition has helped textile units in the region find import substitutes from local manufacturers and know about new technologies and products.

The event will be held at Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore from January 9 to 12 and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This event will be an excellent opportunity to showcase products to the various sectors of the textile industry.
