Since millions of garments and hundreds millions tones of greenhouse gases are produced during the textile manufacturing process every year, green textiles have been widely recognized by the consumers in recent years. Some international brands such as PUMA have already implemented green textiles in their businesses, PUMA also targets to use 90% sustainable cotton and polyester fibers by 2020.
In response to the emergence of sustainable manufacturing practices, the 19th International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex 2019) will be grandly held on 25-28 November 2019 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre. It is expected to gather more than 1,200 exhibitors to showcase a range of intelligent textile machinery and innovative eco-friendly materials, helping the enterprises to expand their businesses and drive towards “Sustainable Fashion”. Highlighted green exhibits include Green Technologies of Printing, Dyeing and Finishing, Digital Printing Machinery and Renewable Materials, etc.

The environmental impacts of textile manufacturing industry have all along been a global concern.
