SGS textile laboratory accredited to support Madagascar textile industry

SGS to support Madagascar’s textile industry has become its first accredited textile laboratory. SGS has been accredited with ISO/IEC 17025:2005. In addition to the advanced equipment and wide range of services, the internationally recognized accreditation will enable SGS to guarantee the quality and integrity of its services and to strengthen customer confidence.

Operational since 2013, this conformity and performance testing laboratory is designed to assist local textile manufacturing companies to cater global needs.

Madagascar’s minister of commerce, Chabani Nourdine, taking part at the official ceremony, highlighted the importance of this accreditation for the local textile industry.

Cédric Catheline, managing director of SGS in Madagascar said that in any certification and accreditation process, getting the certificate is just the starting point.

It officially confirms the company’s commitment to comply with the standards, but it also implies that it will be necessary to double their efforts to keep on top and to maintain this accreditation, and to gradually expand the scope.
