NILIT, a global supplier of nylon 6,6 for apparel, has earned the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification Plus system (ISCC+) accreditation for its primary SENSIL® ByNature facility in Israel.

More NILIT facilities throughout the world will shortly receive ISCC+ accreditation. The ISCC+ system is an independent, globally applicable sustainability certification scheme that attests to the supply chain's managed use of renewable feedstocks. The new sustainable nylon 6,6 with lower environmental impact, SENSIL ByNature, provides brands and retailers with a high-quality foundation for more environmentally conscious fashion designs. The ISCC+ system confirms the provenance of the renewable feedstocks in SENSIL ByNature.

Ilan Melamed, general manager of NILIT, said that the ISCC+ system accreditation for SENSIL ByNature is a key success in NILIT's objective to enable a more sustainable garment sector. SENSIL ByNature's significant environmental benefits are independently verified by the ISCC+ certification, enabling garment makers and retailers to confidently incorporate these premium, sustainable performance textiles into their collections.

SENSIL ByNature, which will be available in April 2022, is a nylon 6,6 for clothing that is created by substituting renewable bio-gas feedstock for some of the yarn's fossil fuel-derived basic components. By switching to bio-gas, SENSIL ByNature uses fewer precious fossil feedstocks and produces less of the harmful greenhouse gases that go along with them. With all the performance advantages of nylon 6,6, SENSIL ByNature provides apparel makers and retailers with a verified tool for producing high-quality apparel with a diminished environmental effect and enhanced Life Cycle Analysis, something that today's environmentally conscious consumers demand.
