Seasalt partners with Reskinned to launch new resale platform

Cornish clothing brand Seasalt, has extended its partnership with resale provider Reskinned, in order to launch a new resale platform.

The new business will enable users to purchase previously owned and repaired Seasalt garments starting on 2 April 2023.

As part of this, each item of clothing will be graded to determine its quality and condition. The Reskinned crew will next choose items for resale, ozone-cleanse them (a zero-water cleaning method), and certify that each item is in its “best condition” and prepared to be transported to a new home.

The newest stage of Seasalt’s collaboration with Reskinned is the new platform. A take-back program was introduced by the collaboration last month, allowing shoppers to discard or rehouse their gently used apparel in exchange for a Seasalt gift card. In the first six weeks after the service’s debut, it received more than 2,000 goods.

Paul Hayes, CEO at Seasalt, said that they are thrilled to be able to start the reselling service so soon and have been blown away by the fantastic response from customers joining involved in the takeback program. As a company, it’s really important to them to do everything they can to promote circularity in their sector, and the success they’ve had so far is proof of the high caliber of their Seasalt product.

Reskinned, a 2020 startup, has already collaborated with several fashion companies, like Joules and eBay, to develop and grow their pre-owned product and decrease fashion waste.

Matt Hanrahan, Co-Founder of Reskinned, said with Reskinned, they’re welcoming new customers to the used market. They achieve this by ensuring that buying used is just as simple as buying new with their excellent product photography and 30-day return policy. Consumers adore what they do, and their drop-shipping models are effective—products typically sell out within three days, and their return rate is far lower than average for the sector.
