Textile finishing specialist Sciessent, based in Beverly, Massachusetts, has announced that its NOBO anti-odour technology has received GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification.
GOTS is a global textile processing standard for organic fibers that includes ecological and social standards and is validated by independent textile supply chain certification.
NOBO's chemistry formulation and manufacturing methods are certified to meet the required ecological and social global sustainability criteria. It further states that NOBO is an environmentally and socially responsible product that has no negative effects on the ecosystem or biodiversity throughout its lifecycle.
NOBO adsorbs chemicals responsible for body smell without the use of an antibacterial and is specifically created to decrease odour in natural and synthetic fabrics.
Sciessent CEO, Paul C. Ford, said that achieving GOTS Certification for NOBO demonstrates their commitment to sustainability during product development. They want to make sure that every product they release is compliant with not just their own company values, but also the standards for a more environmentally responsible industry.
NOBO is listed on the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Foundation ZDHC Gateway, complying with ZDHC Level 3 requirements and is also bluesign approved.
