Schneiders launches sustainable collection with Fulgar Amni Soul Eco

Austrian brand Schneiders, has chosen yarns from Fulgar‘s sustainable range, particularly Amni Soul, for its first eco-sustainable mini capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2021-22. The collection, which includes two down jackets and a coat in various sizes, is biodegradable right down to the zips.

These warm and comfy functional, ultralight garments are constructed entirely of Amni Soul Eco, a polyamide 6.6 biodegradable yarn.

Amni Soul Eco is the outcome of research conducted by the Solvay Group in partnership with Fulgar, a company based in Milan. It biodegrades in around five years if properly disposed of in suitable anaerobic settings. Schneiders has also chosen to utilize biodegradable zips solely in these clothes.

Fulgar marketing manager, Alan Garosi, said that they’re happy that an established brand like Schneiders has chosen their green yarns for this collection. It’s a significant acknowledgment of their ten-year commitment to building a more sustainable Europe-wide supply chain.

Wolfgang Binder, Schneiders owner and CEO, said that at Schneiders, they feel that Fulgar is the ideal partner, supplying high-quality yarns that respect the environment and can meet the demands of a rapidly expanding industry, with an increased focus on the use of practical eco-compatible fabrics.

Fulgar is a global leader in synthetic fibers, manufacturing and distributing nylon 6.6 and coated elastomers for the textile and technical fabric industries.

The company, which was founded in the late 1970s in Castel Goffredo (Mantova), in Italy’s hosiery region, has consistently increased its R&D expenditure. Its success has also been aided by a commitment to environmental issues, as seen by projects and efforts involving the entire manufacturing chain, as well as sustainable products such as Q-Nova regenerated yarn and bio-based Evo yarn. From hosiery to circular knits, intimate wear, beachwear, and sportswear, Fulgar may be found in every segment of the textile business.

Fulgar is also the sole distributor of Lycra, Lycra T400, and Elaspan fibers in Europe and Turkey. It formed a collaboration with the Solvay group in 2012, becoming the distributor and producer of Emana fiber, Amni Soul Eco, and Q-Skin.
