Sappi North America Inc. — producer and supplier of diversified paper, packaging products, and pulp released its 2021 Sustainability Report, which contains the highest possible grade from EcoVadis, the world's most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings.
Sappi Limited, which includes Sappi North America, has received a Platinum grade in the annual EcoVadis Corporate Social (CSR) evaluations for the third time. This achievement placed Sappi North America and Sappi Limited in the top one percent of all firms examined. Sappi's commitment to sustainable practices was assessed by EcoVadis using 21 factors, including the environment, labor, and human rights, ethics, and sustainable sourcing.
The 2021 Sustainability Report demonstrates Sappi's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and business success throughout its communities and workforce. The study also highlighted Sappi's unwavering dedication to developing women in leadership roles, as well as strategic partnerships to establish a path for women in STEM, as well as its commitment to employee safety and third-party collaborations for sustainability efforts.
Sappi continued to integrate the concepts of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals as a vital aspect of its business and sustainable practices in order to help achieve its ambitions 2025 sustainable development goals.

Beth Cormier, Vice President of Research, Development and Sustainability, Sappi North America, said that their improvement in energy efficiency from the baseline in 2019 is enough to electrify over 80,000 houses for a year. Their decrease in carbon dioxide emissions from this baseline is comparable to eliminating nearly 24,000 automobiles from the highways each year. This does not happen without a strong plan to achieve these objectives, and it can only occur with devoted people to carry out that plan.
