Salomon has reimagined its iconic XT_PU.RE footwear model with a focus on sustainability while ensuring the same high performance. This update aligns with the brand’s commitment to responsible product innovation, following the success of its fully recyclable INDEX running shoe range.

The revamped XT_PU.RE is made primarily from recycled and recyclable materials. Its upper has been redesigned in two pieces, using high-quality recycled PET fibers sourced from complex waste. These fibers offer the same comfort, durability, and color quality as virgin materials. Combined with the original TPU sole, the result is a fully recyclable urban shoe.

Salomon developed the XT_PU.RE in collaboration with Carbios and Far Eastern New Century (FENC). Carbios’ enzymatic biorecycling technology breaks down PET waste into its original monomers, which FENC then repolymerizes into premium recycled polyester fibers. These fibers are transformed into high-performance materials that meet Salomon’s rigorous standards for fit, comfort, and longevity.
