Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), the largest producer of polyester fibre and yarn in the world has commissioned its new ultra-modern Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) facility which is most automated and eco-friendly plant in Silvassa.
With this RIL’s total PFY capacity including theMalaysian facilities, goes over 1.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). This has further upsurge their position as world’s largest producer of Polyster Fiber and Yarn, company said.
The entire production from Silvassa facility will be placed effectively in the domestic and international markets. It existing texturizing facility at Silvassa will help eliminates the packaging and logistics costs too.
The commissioning of this facility marks the beginning of the mega petrochemical expansion of Reliance Industries Ltd.
This, coupled with integration with PTA, will make the Silvassa facility amongst the lowest cost Polyester Filament Yarn producing sites globally.
The Reliance Industries stock was trading at Rs.945.10 on BSE, down 0.81% from previous close at 10.21am while India’s benchmark sensex Index dropped 0.66% to 22,480.52 points.
