Revalyu Resources, a company specializing in glycolysis-based chemical recycling, has recently inaugurated a second polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling plant at its Nashik complex in India. The facility can handle over 20 million discarded PET bottles daily, equating to a production capacity of up to 175 tons per day of PET flakes and pellets.

Revalyu's advanced recycling technique relies on a patented glycolysis-based technology, which chemically breaks down PET plastic. According to the company, this method uses 75 percent less water and 91 percent less energy than traditional PET production, significantly reducing its environmental impact. The technology converts post-consumer PET into virgin-grade PET, making it suitable for diverse applications.

“This is a revolutionary moment for the PET plastic recycling industry,” remarked Dr. Vivek Tandon, founder of Revalyu Resources and the Revalyu Group. "Our process is commercially proven, scalable, and environmentally sustainable, reversing the PET lifecycle to produce virgin-quality polymer.”

Revalyu's latest expansion is in partnership with the Germany-based Heraeus Group, a partial owner of the firm, which supports its goal of setting new benchmarks in the PET recycling industry. “Our Nashik site underscores our strategic vision of reinforcing our leadership position in the PET recycling landscape globally,” said Makarand Kulkarni, CEO of Revalyu India.
