The rePlant Hemp Impact Fund 1, LP (the “Fund”) was formally launched for investing by rePlant Hemp Advisors, LLC. The Fund is focusing on bio-based innovation, a carbon-negative domestic supply chain, good green jobs, sustainable consumer products, and verified CO2 sequestration as the world transitions away from fossil fuels.
In the next five years, the global market for industrial hemp is expected to rise by about $10 billion, from its current $5 billion. rePlant Hemp Advisors, LLC wants to invest $500 million in the space by 2030, with a $75 million initial closure.
Geoff Whaling, president and cofounder of rePlant Hemp, said that hemp is a key asset on their journey to decarbonization. Every time a polluting technology is phased out, a new cleantech must arise to replace it. Hemp is used in a variety of industries, including green building, plant-based proteins, bioplastics, sustainable aviation fuels, and powering the electric future of transportation. Investing in hemp is an investment in the future technologies that will alter our world.
rePlant Board Chair and Cofounder Michael Woods, said that hemp offers nearly all major sectors a much needed and crucial road toward sustainability. Hemp supplies sustainable materials, insulation, flooring, and more—right now—as global firms and governments explore ways to construct carbon neutral and even carbon negative buildings and infrastructure. Hemp will also play a key part in the development of new sustainable construction technologies, such as structural green concrete, in the near future.
rePlant Hemp Impact Fund 1, LP is managed by Entoro Investments, a Houston, TX based Registered Investment Advisor. James C. Row, CFA, Entoro Founder and CEO said hemp is an American natural resource with immense possibilitie. They’re thrilled to be able to help their American farmers and their families while also investing in game-changing clean technology. Clearbrook and Merida Capital Holdings LLC have been appointed as subadvisers to the Fund. Each firm will support the Fund in sourcing, assessing, and managing portfolio investments in this capacity.
Geoff Whaling added that no one claimed the road to net-zero was going to be simple. He’ve been working in this field for over a decade, and is well aware of the hurdles as well as the nearly endless value that comes with realising hemp’s potential. The first step in the United States is to invest in their farmers—none of this would be possible without the agricultural supply chain and the agtech that comes with it.
The rePlant Hemp team combines proven industry knowledge, exceptional financial acumen, and a commitment to sustainability to meet one of the century’s most significant possibilities. rePlant Hemp may be the most comprehensive method to delivering on the promise of hemp yet, with shared knowledge in hemp, finance, marketing, and advocacy.
