Red Carpet Green Dress (RCGD) has launched a new app aimed at providing knowledge and raising awareness about sustainable fashion, offering its customers exclusive access to material to make environmentally conscious clothing choices more accessible.

Suzy Amis Cameron, an actress, environmental advocate, and author of "Save the Planet," founded RCGD when she couldn't find enough ethical fashion brands to wear on the red carpet during the global premieres of her husband James Cameron's "Avatar," so she took matters into her own hands.

In 2019, RCGD celebrated its ten-year anniversary, and the group continues dedicated to its aim of promoting more sustainable fashion practices. The team recently launched the Oscars red carpet design initiatives with the Annual Academy Awards, outfitting various Hollywood superstars with sustainable attire, such as the gown worn by French actress Léa Seydoux, which was made from renewable wood-based Tencel Luxe filament yarn.

All of the organization's projects are now in one place with this new app, which is available for download in the iOS and Play stores, in an effort to spark conversations around eco-design, keep consumers up to speed on the latest news in this area, highlight how sustainability can have a personal impact, and educate people on these themes through personal suggestions and industry solutions.

Interviews with sustainability leaders, blogs,  editorials, articles, a calendar to stay up to speed on environmental-related days, games to test knowledge, and the opportunity to interact with like-minded individuals will all be available in addition to the content on the app.

The app will further inform its community about RCGD’s latest work with the Oscars, the Global Design Contest, brand partnerships, upcoming workshops, and projects. It will share behind-the-scenes footage and recordings with wardrobe stylists and display upcoming Clubhouse rooms featuring discussions with special guests.
