Ralph Lauren to join Global Fashion Agenda’s Strategic Partner Group

Global Fashion Agenda, a non-profit organization dedicated to guiding the fashion industry toward a more sustainable future, has announced that Ralph Lauren Corporation will be joining its group of Strategic Partners.

Along with a number of other fashion executives from various sectors of the industry, the corporation will play an active role in the creation of the Global Fashion Agenda’s thought leadership platform and Fashion CEO Agenda. The foundation, which also organizes the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, recognized Ralph Lauren’s current sustainability initiatives, implying that the brand was hand-picked to be a part of its inner circle.

The agenda aims to encourage firms to include circular design ideas into their manufacturing, such as the usage of used garments, resold items, and recycled post-consumer textiles in their supply chain.

Ralph Lauren’s business and brand have been defined by the concept of timelessness for more than 50 years, and this appreciation for things that last extends to the company’s culture, communities, and the rest of the globe. Ralph Lauren has prioritized sustainability in fashion throughout its history, with the most recent innovative steps including the creation of Color on Demand, a revolutionary platform that aims to transform how the fashion industry dyes cotton, the implementation of a circularity strategy, and increased transparency across social and environmental impacts.

The company recently announced the inclusion of key ESG measures in executive remuneration, as well as its ambitious aim of achieving net-zero global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from its operations and its value chain by 2040.

Federica Marchionni, CEO, Global Fashion Agenda, said that Ralph Lauren Corporation is committed to enhancing its sustainability performance and pushing development in the industry as a whole. It is a legendary brand with a timeless style that has the ability to inspire and influence industry change on a large scale. He is happy to have it join their Strategic Partner group, which represents the fashion industry’s various categories, including luxury, lifestyle, e-commerce, high-street, and supply chain management. He is convinced that by working together, they will be able to have an even greater effect in their pursuit of a profitable industry that benefits both the earth and the people.

Patrice Louvet, President & CEO, Ralph Lauren Corporation, said that at Ralph Lauren, they realize that creating a more sustainable and equitable society demands collective action and meaningful collaboration. They look forward to working with the Global Fashion Agenda and its partners to achieve significant change as they focus on developing breakthrough solutions that have the potential to be scaled across our industry.

The partnership, which will take effect in October 2021, will help the fashion corporation’s Design the Change program, which is part of its 2021 Global Citizenship and Sustainability Report. Three areas of devotion are at the heart of the strategy: timeless style development, environmental protection, and advocating better lives. It’s also a signatory to the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action and the G7 Fashion Pact, among other sustainability projects.

In a growing list of Strategic Partners linked with the organization, the premium fashion corporation joins Nike, Asos, H&M Group, Kering, and PVH Corp. Louvet, a Ralph Lauren brand, will also deliver a keynote address at the upcoming digital edition of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, which will take place on October 7 and 8.
