Quiz unveils new sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental footprint

Scottish retailer, Quiz, has introduced a range of new sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the company’s energy consumption and its environmental footprint across the business.

Quiz will switch to carbon-free renewable energy at its head office, distribution center, and 67 locations across the UK and Ireland as part of the efforts. The conversion to 100% renewable energy would save over 900 tonnes of CO2 per year, with the figure increasing through the introduction of other smaller-scale initiatives, including the switch to zero-carbon paper and carbon-neutral water dispensers across the business.

Quiz has also taken initiatives to reduce its environmental effect by decreasing trash generated across its production chain. The firm has introduced 100% recycled and recyclable bags for all online and in-store transactions, resulting in a 40-tonne reduction in yearly virgin plastic use.

Quiz further stated that it will launch at a sustainable range in 2022. To reduce the collection’s environmental impact, all styles are developed and made in the United Kingdom, with recycled yarns and water-based dyes used on soft fabrics.

Sheraz Ramzan, Chief Commercial Officer at Quiz, said that following a period of investigation, they are particularly pleased to announce the sustainability initiatives they have put in place to significantly minimize the company’s environmental footprint. These actions are part of a larger responsibility plan, and they do not mark the end of their efforts. They’ll keep looking for ways to improve, and they’re excited to continue making progress in 2022.
