Textile Manufacturing
PurFi Global, a leader in textile rejuvenation technology, and its joint venture partner, Arvind Limited, a renowned name in textile manufacturing, have announced plans to significantly scale up manufacturing operations. This initiative aims to support the sustainability goals of leading global fashion and design companies.
The joint venture, PurFi Arvind Manufacturing India (PAMI), will establish a cutting-edge textile circularity facility in Gujarat, India. The facility will begin operations with an annual capacity of 3,500 metric tons, alongside a secondary line with a 5,500-ton capacity of rejuvenated fiber. Utilizing PurFi’s proprietary technology to convert textile waste into high-quality fibers, the site is designed for scalability and efficiency. It is set to activate ten large production lines over the next four years to meet the rising demand from global brands and retailers.
Joy Nunn, CEO of PurFi Global, stated, “We are dedicated to empowering brands and retailers to offer customers the perfect balance of fashion, quality, price, and sustainability. With decades of innovation and a robust intellectual property portfolio, our ability to supply virgin-like rejuvenated fibers is unmatched. Through our U.S. manufacturing sites and our joint venture in Belgium, we’ve established ourselves as global leaders in textile upcycling.”
Punit Lalbhai, Vice Chairman of Arvind Limited, highlighted, “Both organizations share a commitment to addressing the critical issue of textile waste while advancing sustainability goals. This partnership offers an innovative solution to tackle textile waste and aligns with our ethos of being ‘Fundamentally Right.’ Using PurFi’s ground-breaking technologies, we aim to drive growth in textile manufacturing while reducing environmental impact. By promoting circularity, we are leading a systemic shift that benefits consumers, producers, and the planet alike.”
