German sporting brand, Puma has launched a collection of footwear, apparel, and accessories made from PUMA’s own industry waste and other recycled materials.
The Re.GEN collection was created to reduce textile industry waste and integrate recycled materials from Puma's manufacturing process. The apparel collection is made from recycled polyester or at least 20% recycled cotton. While all footwear in the collection features at least 20% recycled material.
The RE.GEN line uses three types of recycled products, including leather off-cuts from PUMA's own production, cotton off-cuts from the textile industry, and polyester manufactured from recycled plastic. As a result, the collection both embraces and rethinks waste.
Each piece in the collection is one-of-a-kind, features dynamic cutlines, fresh fabric mixes, and tonal colors as well as various designs inspired by broken-down plastic. Upcycling-inspired fabric combinations and unexpected cut lines appear in the collection. Every piece comes with a recycled TPU badge and a sticker that tells the story behind the product.
The company said in a press release, Puma is dedicated to reducing its environmental effects and upholding its ‘forever better' code. Re.GEN is a modern collection that minimizes waste and makes an environmental message by street style.
