German sportswear firm Puma, has joined Zero100, a group of business titans working on digitizing the supply chain in order to cut carbon emissions.
Puma’s choice to sign up for Zero100 is the organization’s next move after it stated last year that it would be significantly reducing its carbon emissions.
Even though its business developed rapidly between 2017 and 2021, Puma stated in 2022 that it was on track to reach its climate goals and that it had cut its own carbon emissions by 88% and those emanating from its supply chain by 12%.
Puma, however, thinks that greater industry cooperation is required when it comes to shared supply chains in order to significantly decrease carbon emissions and achieve global climate targets.
Anne-Laure Descours, Puma’s chief sourcing officer, said that no company could combat climate change alone while they simultaneously work to make their supply chain more adaptable and responsive to shifting consumer needs. They can scale and accelerate their combined beneficial effect and fulfill their aim to be eternally better by partnering with like-minded businesses.
