Primark expands its partnership with recycled cotton producer Recoverâ„¢

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2022-07-20 19:04:09 – United Kingdom

Primark is expanding its partnership with recycled cotton company Recoverâ„¢ and will become the first high-street retailer to utilize Recover's distinctive RColorBlend fiber on a worldwide scale with the launch of a new leisurewear range.

The collaboration supports Primark's aim, through its Primark Cares strategy, to increase the quantity of apparel made from recycled materials, and it expands on the retailer's ambition to make more sustainable fashion affordable to all.

Recoverâ„¢ is a global manufacturer of high-quality, low-impact recovered cotton fiber and fiber blends, including RColorBlend. The firm converts textile waste into recycled fibers and mixes, so helping to close the loop on fashion.

RColorBlend is created by combining Recover's coloured recycled fiber from textile waste - such as factory floor cutting waste or worn clothing - with a recycled carrier fiber. Color accuracy is accomplished by combining the two types of fibers, with no further dyeing procedure and just a little amount of water and chemicals used to lessen the environmental effect.

The collection is constructed from recycled cotton and polyester fibers and comprises t-shirts for £6, $10,€8 and sweatshirts for £11, $17, and €13 in a variety of colors including grey, blue, and pink. It will be available at select retailers in 14 European and American regions.

Lynne Walker, Director of Primark Cares at Primark, said he is thrilled to be expanding their cooperation with Recoverâ„¢ in order to promote their inventions to a wider market and help their efforts to improve the quantity of recovered material they use in their clothes. They need cooperation and collaboration for change to happen at scale throughout the fashion industry, and they will continue to invest in collaborations like this to support their objective to become a more circular business and minimize their environmental impact.

Alejandro Raña, Chief Business Development Officer at Recover™, said this fresh product offering is another significant milestone in their long-term cooperation with Primark, with the goal of making circular fashion accessible and affordable to everybody. Primark can make high-quality clothing in a wide spectrum of colors with minimal environmental impact by using Recover's RColorBlend recycled fiber in their supply chain, helping to have a long-lasting effect on the industry.
