To create awareness among the silk farmers about the importance of silk industry and various types of programmes that were taken up for the benefit of silk farmers, the District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar released a poster to give wide publicity on the importance of silk industry and describing the various types of programmes here on Monday, on the occasion of the Grievance Day.
Joint Director of district horticulture and silk industry department Sridhar, District Revenue Officer Shyam Prasad Lal were present along with others.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said that several steps were taken for the development of silk industry in the district.
The Collector also explained that the district horticulture and silk industry department had organised several programmes to create awareness among the silk farmers about the silk worms, various diseases and preventive measures to be taken along with growing of mulberry plants.
The Telangana State government had introduced various schemes for the development of silk industry in the State and to benefit the farmers, who depend on silk fabric production.
