The Intertextile Shanghai 2014 trade fair opens with around 1,400 exhibitors from 23 different countries and regions taking part in the event which show that the event is getting popular in more and more countries in comparison to last year which had brought together 1,344 exhibitors from 16 different countries and regions. This year Portuguese textile is also on display at one of the busiest international events in its sector.

This year, eight Portuguese companies has taken part in the event and will be showcasing textiles for shirts, trousers, coats and velvets with most demanding patterns of quality and design. National association for textile and clothing Moda Seletiva is charged with the task of representing Portugal’s textile industry at international trade. Portuguese companies represented by the association at Intertextile Shanghai 2014 are Arco Texteis, Gierlings Velpor, Lemar, Riopele, Somelos, Teviz, Têxtil Serzedelo and Troficolor.

According to Moda Seletiva, well-known brands who are fans of Portuguese textiles are Armani, Gucci, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Chanel.
