Plasmalex unveils eco-friendly barrier coating

Plasmalex, a leader in advanced coating solutions, has introduced PlasmaGuard X, the latest addition to its PlasmaGuard range of high-performance barrier coatings. This innovation is the result of years of research and development, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability.

PlasmaGuard coatings set a new benchmark for ultra-thin splash-proof and barrier protection across various industries, including medical devices, consumer electronics, PCBAs, and non-woven or nanofiber materials. These coatings not only deliver exceptional performance but are also 100% PFAS-free, ensuring they meet strict environmental standards.

Among the existing coatings, PlasmaGuard S is a completely halogen-free nanocoating applied at a thickness of 10 to 200 nanometers. With a water contact angle exceeding 105 degrees, it effectively prevents water penetration, making it suitable for materials such as electronics, plastics, textiles, membranes, and medical devices.

Meanwhile, PlasmaGuard X is a fully PFAS-free dielectric barrier coating designed for applications requiring superior protection, such as PCBAs, sensors, medical devices, and implants. Despite its ultra-thin multilayer structure (less than 1.5 µm), it outperforms traditional, much thicker conformal coatings, ensuring unparalleled durability and protection.
