Pochampally Handloom Park Ltd (PHPL) an integrated textile park that houses designing, dyeing and weaving facility for textiles under a single roof is all set to organize a 4-days, Pochampally IKAT art mela- 2014 in New Delhi. The fair is completely dedicated to Handloom products.

Pochampally handloom products are well known not only in India but as well as in the export market. The exquisite artistic values and traditions involved have been the main reasons for the unwavering demand for Pochampally handloom products. The design is generated from the process of Ikat, which is a process of tie-and-dye to give different shades to the yarn before feeding into the next process of weaving. Ikat is the first Indian Textile process to obtain Intellectual Property Rights Protection under Geographical Indications Act.

Handloom products like ,Hand made IKAT sarees in silk & Cotton ,Bed ,HomeLinen, Dress Materials and textile to apparel fabrics, stoles , scraves, and, duppatas , table mats, covers, cotton shirts & Kurtis , in exquisite designs & Contemporary colours by famous designers ,Skillfully created by world famous Weavers of Pochampally (Telangana State) will be on display at this Mela.

It is a platforms which reaches out to women looking for well-designed hand made cotton, silk wear & exclusive home textile. It has a blend of different style and concept of handloom creations coming together under one roof, and exhibiting their creations of different genres of handloom products in vibrant colours and textures in wide variety and styles.

The park was started with the aim to produce niche high-end products, conform to quality standards of the produce (a big task in the handloom sector), flexibility in manufacturing newer products through product diversification and continuous innovation, production of custom made designs, volume production and timely delivery.

The Pochampally IKAT art mela will be held from July 13th at Agakhan hall , 6 Bhagwan Das Road , New Delhi.01.
