PERU MODA and PERU GIFT SHOW 2017 the two-day event was a great success; generating US$ 108 million, as a result of more than 3,350 meetings with 250 Peruvian exporters and more than 800 international buyers attending the event.
The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Eduardo Ferreyros Küppers, pointed out that most of the buyers came from the U.S (28%), followed by Brazil (14%), Chile (6%), Argentian (4%) and Mexico (3%).
More than 250 Peruvian exporters attended the event, 10% more than last year’s edition. Most negotiations were regarded the fabrication process and sourcing, which added up a total of US$ 36 millions, while alpaca products accounted for US$ 23 million and babies and kids clothing purchases came to US$ 5 million.
Ferreyros pointed out that the event received more than 5,000 people which made Peru Moda and Gift Show 2017, one of the most important fashion gatherings in Latin America for fashion and the textile industry.
Peru Moda took place on April 5-7 at the Lima Convention Center.
