Pakistan forms six working groups development of textile and garment sector

Pakistan government is taking comprehensive measures for further development of its garment and textile sector to boost exports. One of the measures is that the government has formed six working groups for the development of garments and textile sectors. The textile and garment sectors are offered more facilities to gain maximum benefit from GSP Plus status as well as creating new job opportunities in the country and increasing exports, this was stated by the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Friday. A project has been evolved to set up Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park near Motorway which is of vital importance in the wake of granting of GSP Plus status to Pakistan. The work is in progress speedily on Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park where special incentives will be offered to investors for setting up industries. Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park project is a revolutionary step towards developing textile and garment sectors. Latest facilities will be available to the garments and textile industry under one roof in Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park which will promote garments and textile sectors. The chief minister has issued instructions for setting up a business council for the solution of problems of garments and textile sectors. The business council will formulate its recommendations after consultation with industrialists. Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park Company has been directed for immediate registration and work on the project be started at the earliest.
