Pakistan cotton market witnessed slow trading activities

Pakistan local cotton markets witnessed sluggish trading activities due to low demand and also due cotton season ending in the country. Only two trading stations of the dozens trading stations in the country reported trade in the commodity in the last 48 hours, said a broker at the Karachi Cotton Exchange.

According to the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) report, traders at the two stations, Ghotki and Rahim Yar Khan exchanged as many as 1,200 bales (155 kilograms) at Rs5,800 to Rs6,500 per maund (37.324 kilograms).

The report of previous working day showed, the markets witnessed trade in 1,357 bales at Rs5,900 to Rs6,500 per maund.

Meanwhile, the KCA kept back its cotton spot (benchmark) rate unchanged for the fourth working day at Rs6,550 per maund.

It has been observed that usually during these times every year the trading activities are slowed down.
