Oysho, the sportswear and leisurewear brand from the Inditex group, has collaborated with Fulgar to introduce a new eco-friendly activewear collection made with Q-Cycle yarn. This partnership marks a significant move towards sustainability in sportswear.
The collection is crafted using Q-Cycle, a polyamide 6.6 yarn made entirely from recycled raw materials using mass balance principles. The yarn is produced from pyrolysis oil derived from discarded or end-of-life tyres, providing an environmentally friendly alternative without compromising on lightness, durability, or strength compared to virgin polyamide.
Q-Cycle has received certifications from leading international organizations, including RCS by Textile Exchange, ISCC PLUS, LCA, and Oeko-TEX Standard 100 Appendix 6, ensuring sustainability and consumer safety. The material is versatile, making it suitable for a variety of textile applications and blending well with different fibers.
"Our partnership with Oysho is a tangible step towards a greener future," said Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar. "With Q-Cycle, we are proving that innovation can repurpose waste materials into high-performance textiles without compromising quality or functionality."
