ORTA launches new regenerative cotton NFT for denim sector

ORTA has launched a new NFT for the denim sector, displaying the retro-futuristic style of denim utility wear manufactured from 100% regenerated cotton.

The digital display, dubbed The Blueskier NFT, depicts a “blue sky” vision of consumerism paired with regenerative agriculture to begin developing the future we want to live in now.

ORTA Blueskyer NFT is shaped by Tezos, an energy-efficient proof-of-stake blockchain, in keeping with its climate-positive aim. According to the company’s carbon footprint Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the platform creates an average carbon footprint comparable to only 50 individuals after 17 million yearly transactions. 1 This efficiency is critical to comprehend since the energy requirements of other blockchains today might occasionally approximate those of a few nation nations.

ORTA Blueskyer NFT, created in partnership with Muse VR, depicts a 100% regenerative utilitarian denim jumpsuit rising from a colorful, vibrant garden to the blue sky above.

Blueskyer is the first NFT to represent ORTA’s commitment to creating and supporting the #iamablueskyer movement, which captures the spirit of a new generation of designers, artists, creators, climate advocates, and others who are dedicated to combating climate change, waste, and biodiversity restoration. societal justice

ORTA also understands that, at a time when climate change is a significant danger to global mental health, a more hopeful vision of our future must be championed by all.

ORTA Director Dr. Sedef Unku Aki, said that they need to embrace a blue-sky attitude if they are to move away from the culture of waste and carbon-intensive operations and expand their sector. This attitude begins with design.” Almost every pair of jeans is meant to be discarded by the consumer. How can we disrupt conventional design thinking in order to embrace these principles of long-term use, transmission, and reproduction?”

Approximately 90 NFTs are now available. They may be bid on and purchased for 5 XTZ—Tezos’ native cryptocurrency—via the NFT marketplace Rarible, which is around $8.49. Profits from the sale of Orta BlueSkier NFTs will be donated to regenerative agricultural efforts in Turkey.

Dr. Aki said that at ORTA, they are creating a regenerative platform, a systems transformation of their denim sector by encouraging innovation, science-based design, open-source technology, and collective action. Only then will we truly have tomorrow’s more positive and regenerative denim business.

The denim brand recognized for its forward-thinking attitude is already preparing for its Metaverse debut in 2021, dubbed “MetaDenimverse,” where it will present its “Open Ticket” line. It previously introduced an online virtual reality (VR) experience in which users could take a virtual hot air balloon flight and try on new outfits.
