Bergamo-based Italian multinational RadiciGroup collaborated with the high-end hosiery brand Oroblù owned by CSP International to manufacture the first Oroblù-branded tights made in Italy from recycled PET bottles.
Both firms, who are known for their creativity and sustainability and are icons of Italian success, wanted to merge their expertise to produce a high-performance, trendy, and environmentally sustainable product.
Repetable, a modern RadiciGroup polyester yarn derived from post-consumer recycled PET bottles, is used to make Oroblù Save the Oceans tights, which are black and are of 50 deniers. Repetable's manufacturing processes lower CO2 pollution, as well as water and electricity demand.
Oroblù selected Repetable yarn for its special properties and high technical performance characteristics, which completely satisfy the Save the Oceans project criteria, after a thorough analysis and assessment of the fiber. Repetable yarn is made without virgin fibers and is dyed with solvent dyeing, which saves water and energy during processing.
The president of RadiciGroup, Angelo Radici said that their product policy is increasingly focused on the use of recovered raw materials while maintaining the performance of the goods we provide to our consumers. They collaborated with Oroblù to bring stunning, high-quality, and environmentally friendly tights to market – a commodity that can satisfy the expectations and demands of even the most environmentally aware consumers.
