Omax Cotspin joins Sourcery's program for sustainable supply chain

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2023-08-24 17:03:32 – India

An Indian textile company called Omax Cotspin has become a part of Sourcery's Direct-to-Grower Programme. This program connects companies that make clothes, like brands and manufacturers, with farmers who grow the materials, with a focus on both making money and taking care of the environment.

Omax Cotspin makes yarn from recycled cotton, and they've joined this program to figure out and fix any problems in their supply chain. This includes things like making sure the materials are good quality, the process is efficient, and the costs are reasonable.

Jayesh H. Patel, who runs Omax Cotspin, hopes that working with this program will help them reward farmers for their hard work. He also wants to make the process of making yarn more visible and connected, so they can show that the cotton they use is organic, regenerative, or part of better cotton programs.

The main goal is to make Omax's farming program a part of the Direct-to-Grower Programme. This way, they can supply really good cotton yarn from India to other partners who also want to trade in a positive and sustainable way.

By joining this program, Omax wants to make sure they can track their cotton all the way from when it's picked to when it's turned into finished products. This helps with transparency and knowing where things come from.

Imran Asghar, who helps lead Sourcery, is excited about having Omax join in. He thinks that with Omax's help, they can make sure that the supply chain is trustworthy and transparent. He believes that trust is really important for being clear and knowing where things come from.

Omax's main role in this program is to supply cotton yarn. They're expected to work with other brands and manufacturers in India and around the world. This helps set up direct connections for getting yarn, and it also helps everyone know where the materials come from.

Omax is already working with a German company called Armedangels through this program. They want to make sure that everything in Armedangels' supply chain is easy to see and understand, and that's why they're partnering up.
