The new summer offerings by Nike are a part of the huge plans for its environmentally sustainable Move to Zero collection, expanding the limits of fashion and Nike heritage. The company unveiled a new line of sneakers with the aim of fostering environmental awareness and sustainability.

The Air VaporMax 2021 is one of Nike's most sustainable shoes to date, with at least 55% recycled material by weight, thanks to the use of circular design concepts in its various components. The shoe has a sustainability-first approach towards its materials. It has a full-length VaporMax Nike Air machine from heel to toe made with approximately 75% recycled materials, TPU on the heel clip and toe tip made with approximately 60% recycled materials, and a Nike Grind outsole.

The Air Max Pre-simplified Day's upper helps to eliminate material waste in the tooling, with at least 20% recycled content by weight. The Air Max Genome is a streamlined upper with a 75 percent TPU Airbag inspired by the 2000s.

In the Plant Cork Pack, classic designs and modern design approaches are inspired by the natural world. Recycled Poly Canvas and other textiles on the uppers account for around 20% of each shoe's recycled material.

The outsoles of the Air Force 1, Blazer, and Daybreak are made with 9 percent recycled cork infused in the rubber, which is partly derived from the wine industry. This gives the material a more natural appearance and reduces its overall effect.

The Nike Crater Impact is a modern silhouette based on the Space Hippie learnings, featuring stitched curves, efficient overlays, and an embroidered Swoosh to help reduce waste. For durability and visual identification, the soft Crater Foam midsole mixes around 10% Nike grind with a mix of foams. The Nike Grind granules produce a unique texture and color combination on every midsole, and the reduction of new content reduces the carbon footprint.

Cosmic Unity, Nike's first premium shoe made with at least 25% recycled content by weight, including a 10% Nike Grind Crater Foam midsole, is now available in new colors, providing durability and responsiveness in the competitive space.

Two other successful silhouettes join Celestial Unity: the Air Zoom SuperRep 2 Next Nature and the Nike Victory G Lite, both of which are made from at least 20% recycled content by weight and feature highly breathable designs.

Nike has not confirmed clear release dates for each shoe in the Move to Zero collection for Summer '21.
