Nichemtex, Akosombo Textiles to be official partners of Africa Fashion Week

The African Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) to take place on June 3, 2017 which provides a platform for designers who want expose but do not have great finances to do international shows. Group Africa comprising Household African wax makers – Nichemtex (Nigeria) and Akosombo Textiles (Ghana) – producers of Da Viva, ABC and other range of African themed fabrics, are set to participate as official textile partners.

The group said that its purpose is to be the champion of fashion business in Africa and beyond and improve the livelihood of people in their markets through the development of the fashion industry.

The group also aims to establish a new Application Centre with its strategic partner – Swarovski.

Da Viva, Excellence and Nichem VIP are products of Nichemtex while Akosombo Textiles produces ABC, ATL, Inspiration and Qspice.

Both textile makers would also use the opportunity to showcase their new products – with Da Viva unveiling its new collection, while ABC Wax relaunches in Nigeria with the new selvedge: ‘Designed in England, Made in Ghana.’

This year’s AFWN will feature 56 designers and 40 exhibitors selected from various parts of Nigeria and the African continent. They are all in Lagos to celebrate and showcase creativity on a platform that turns creativity into sustainability.

Selected designers to grace the show include Zizi Cardow and Nipo Skin among others.

AFWN will open tomorrow at the at the iconic National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
